Former LISC senior director brings deep experience in community development finance

CONCORD, N.H. — ROC USA is pleased to announce that Asha Rao has been hired as 15th Avenue Housing Cooperative Capital’s Deputy Director.

Prior to joining 15th Avenue Housing Cooperative, Asha worked at LISC Bay Area as Senior Director of Investments, where she led the office’s involvement in the Partnership for the Bay’s Future, a $500 million affordable housing initiative, as well as the local office lending activity. Prior to LISC, she spent seven years at Wells Fargo as a relationship manager, providing below-market-rate capital to CDFIs nationwide.

Asha’s current role will include loan origination and management, loan product development, and supporting the management and culture creation for the 15th Avenue Housing Cooperative Capital team.

“15th Avenue Housing Cooperative Capital is delighted to welcome Asha Rao as its new Deputy Director,” said Michael Sloss, managing director of 15th Avenue Housing Cooperative Capital. “Asha brings a wealth of talent and experience in community development finance to 15th Avenue Housing Cooperative Capital to help manage both current operations and future growth. Her background lending to CDFIs and within CDFIs to support affordable housing in lower-income communities across the country is stellar, and a direct fit with 15th Avenue Housing Cooperative Capital’s needs. We look forward to Asha’s contribution to 15th Avenue Housing Cooperative Capital and 15th Avenue Housing Cooperative for many years to come.”

Asha has an undergraduate business degree from Emory University and her MBA from the Kellogg School at Northwestern University.
